Leukaemia Foundation announces new Director of the Board

Friday, May 19 2023

The Leukaemia Foundation has appointed Ms. Heidi Bradshaw as a new Director of the organisation’s Board. Ms Bradshaw, a proud Wiradjuri and Yorta Yorta woman, has a long history of working in the community services sector.

As CEO of the Narang Bir-Rong Aboriginal Corporation and with personal and familial experience within foster care and kinship care, she has devoted her life to breaking the cycle of inequity and health disparity experienced in many First Nations communities.

Leukaemia Foundation CEO Chris Tanti welcomed the appointment of Ms Bradshaw.

“I’m excited to announce Heidi’s appointment and look forward to the positive impact she’ll undoubtedly have on the Leukaemia Foundation and for all people living with blood cancer. Having over 17 years of experience working in Aboriginal community controlled agencies has given her a deep understanding of the issues facing these communities, and this evident in her passion for improving outcomes for these communities.”

“The Leukaemia Foundation stands with Australians living with blood cancer, and particularly populations who are presently underserved, including First Nations Australians. I look forward to working alongside Heidi to better serve these communities and begin to address the tragic gaps in care that mean that too many First Nations Australians die from their blood cancer.”

Ms Bradshaw’s appointment to the Board is effective immediately and she will attend her first Leukaemia Foundation Board meeting today in Adelaide.
