Leukaemia Foundation CEO Chris Tanti
Introducing The Giving Cell
Giving is in our blood. Literally.
By coming together to fight blood cancer, we can achieve so much more. That’s why we’re launching The Giving Cell community.
A family stronger than ever
Life stopped for Chris Dodd’s family when blood cancer entered their lives. Your support has given Chris the best chance of survival, and his family is so grateful.
You’re powering research that will change lives
Thanks to you, we’re getting closer to a future where treatment for chronic myeloid leukaemia could mean a cure.
For Dr Ilaria Pagani, an internationally recognised young leader in chronic myeloid leukaemia (CML) research, the future for Australians with CML will be one with a cure.
It’s an ambitious goal, but it’s one she’s passionate about.
“CML is fatal if untreated. My research program aims to convert CML treatment from lifelong disease control to cure,” says Dr Pagani.
And thanks to your support, Leukaemia Foundation funding of $400,000 is helping Dr Pagani get closer to that bold end goal.
Empowering families with expert information and advice
Your generosity is helping to craft a focused online education program for Australians with blood cancer. For Yvonne Taylor, it’s made a huge difference.
Blood cancer can be a complex experience, impacting many aspects of life. People may feel like they’ve only just faced one challenge before another one comes along.
That’s why empowering families facing blood cancer with a wide range of information and expert support is incredibly important.
Thanks to you, the Leukaemia Foundation’s comprehensive education program provides rich learning opportunities, including online education.
Beryl’s gift for generations
For long-term blood cancer survivor Beryl, giving to help others was a simple decision.
When you meet Beryl, you instantly feel her caring yet pragmatic approach to life.
“In my life now, I’m happy, I’m satisfied. And I thought leaving a gift in my Will to the Leukaemia Foundation might be a good idea,” explains Beryl.
It’s this beautiful way of looking at life that’s seen Beryl generously give to the Leukaemia Foundation over many years. It’s her way of helping other families facing blood cancer and continuing the generosity of her late husband, Vic.
“It makes me feel that I’ve accomplished something. It’s the same feeling when I send a donation. I know the Leukaemia Foundation will use it where it’s needed,” says Beryl.
Supporting others walking a similar blood cancer path is such a powerful and selfless gift. We’re so very grateful to Beryl.
