Practical support services
Our practical support services are designed to be just that: practical. We understand that a blood cancer diagnosis can have a huge impact on every aspect of your daily life. This can be work and finances, to family life and relationships.
Families facing long and demanding treatment often have the added stress of managing the everyday pressure of practical and/or financial matters.
Our Blood Cancer Support Coordinators are with you for every step of the journey:
- from diagnosis,
- throughout treatment, and
- during recovery
We can provide the practical support and advice you need to help navigate everyday life while living with blood cancer.
Practical services eligibility criteria
Our practical services are available at no cost to anyone living with blood cancer, their family and friends.
How to access practical services
Via self referral and assessment from Blood Cancer Support Coordinators.
Via health professional referral including treatment facilities, social workers and welfare officers.

Accommodation
Assessment of your needs and referral to our accommodation team.

- Assessment and help accessing financial assistance schemes, including providing supporting assessment and documentation.

- Advocacy as required, such as a letter to advocate no gap medical charge or reduction of school and childcare fees.
