The Leukaemia Foundation offers ‘home-away-from-home’ accommodation in locations close to several major treatment centres in Newcastle and Sydney.

Newcastle

The Jim Simpson Patient and Family Accommodation Complex is across the road from the Calvary Mater Hospital and close to the John Hunter Hospital. The facility consists of one two-bedroom apartment and two studio apartments and can accommodate up to three families at one time.

Complete with a tastefully decorated interior and lovely yard, this complex aims to ease the burden of travelling for treatment.

The accommodation has wheelchair access, and Leukaemia Foundation staff are based nearby.

Westmead

The Leukaemia Foundation Patient and Family Accommodation Complex provides seven two-bedroom, fully self-contained apartments, including three with disabled access.

The complex is close to Westmead Hospital and the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, with everything needed to help make families feel at home.

Staff

Westmead accommodation is staffed by highly trained health professionals who are available to assist you and your family with any concerns you may have regarding your diagnosis, treatment, and any other issues which you may be feeling anxious about.
