The Leukaemia Foundation offers fully-furnished, self-contained 'home-away-from-home' accommodation in locations close to major treating hospitals in Brisbane and Townsville.

Herston Village (Brisbane)

Herston Village was the Leukaemia Foundation's first purpose-built accommodation facility in Queensland. Since opening in 1989, the 13 units have helped more than 1,700 people with blood cancer, giving families free accommodation near the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

In December 2016 the village closed temporarily for long-awaited renovations. These renovations were made possible thanks to incredible support from the community and a $998,400 grant from the Australian Government’s National Stronger Regions Fund.

The revitalised accommodation village reopened in late October 2017, with upgrades including the installation of an elevator, improved unit layouts and recreation facilities, upgraded internet data cabling, and new modern appliances. As always, on-site Support Services Coordinators offer advice, support, and treatment information to residents and their families; and a volunteer bus service provides transport to major treating hospitals.

ESA Village (Brisbane)

ESA Village features 30 two and three bedroom fully-furnished, air-conditioned units within a multi-storey complex in Dutton Park, in Brisbane’s south. The village is built around a large grassed courtyard and is set among landscaped gardens.

Facilities include a children's playgound, gym, recreation room, BBQ area, spa, and undercover secure parking area for residents. Village residents are able to use the Leukaemia Foundation’s volunteer bus service for transport to and from Brisbane’s major treating hospitals. Support Services Coordinators are available during business hours to assist with disease and treatment information, emotional support, and practical advice.

Clem Jones-Sunland Village (Brisbane)

The Clem Jones – Sunland Leukaemia Foundation Village is built on five acres of land with beautifully established trees and gardens providing the perfect environment for relaxation and recovery. This state of the art complex includes 30 two and three bedroom, fully-furnished units.

With the support of volunteer drivers, transport is provided to and from major treating hospitals from Monday to Friday. There are also on-site Support Services staff who can help provide emotional and practical support.

Village Green Apartments (Brisbane)

Queensland's newest accommodation offering was opened in 2015 and is centrally located in Bowen Hills, close to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. These 14 apartments are part of The Green apartment complex in the RNA Showgrounds.

The Village Green Apartments are an inner-city hub, providing families with a range of shops, services, and restaurants within walking distance, with many located on-site. Like all of Queensland's accommodation centres, there are support staff available on-site during business hours.

Freemasons Village (Townsville)

The Queensland Freemasons Village is an 18 unit complex built amid landscaped gardens, adjacent to the Townsville Hospital. Within the village, covered walkways provide easy access to the comfortable two-bedroom and three-bedroom, fully self-contained units.

Eight units are located at ground level with private courtyards, while the remaining ten units are located upstairs with large balconies. Support staff work from the village to provide emotional and practical support.
