The Leukaemia Foundation offers 'home-away-from-home' accommodation in locations close to several major treatment centres in Newcastle and Sydney.

Thanks to the Hunter Community Committee and Room for Improvement, the Jim Simpson Patient and Family Accommodation Complex is across the road from the Mater and close to the John Hunter Hospital. The facility can accommodate up to three families at one time.

Complete with a tastefully decorated interior and lovely yard and barbeque area, this complex aims to ease the burden of travelling for treatment.

The accommodation has wheelchair access and access to onsite Leukaemia Foundation staff and resources.

The Phillip Desbrow Accommodation Complex provides six two-bedroom, fully self-contained apartments, including one with disabled access. They have everything needed to truly be a 'home away from home' for families from regional areas.

The complex is in close proximity to several major treatment centres, with everything needed to help make families feel at home.

Each apartment includes a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom and lounge. There is also a growing library housing movies, music and books. Outside there is a shared backyard, which includes an outdoor dining area, children's playground and space for relaxation.

The Leukaemia Foundation Patient and Family Accommodation Complex provides seven two-bedroom, fully self-contained apartments, including three with disabled access. They have everything needed to truly be a 'home away from home' for families from regional areas.

The complex is close to Westmead Hospital and the Children's Hospital at Westmead, with everything needed to help make families feel at home.

Each apartment includes a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom and lounge. A shared Recreation Room is also accessible to all residents. This common area has a living room, dining and kitchen area, as well as a growing library housing movies, music and books. Plus, outside there is a patio/grass area, as well as a shared children's playground out front.
