The Leukaemia Foundation has a number of accommodation complexes located near major treatment centres around the country.
They are designed as a 'home away from home' for patients, carers and their families who have to temporarily relocate from regional and rural areas for specialist treatment.
The Leukaemia Foundation aims to provide its accommodation units to patients and families at no cost to them. This is achieved via a government subsidy scheme.
The Foundation assists patients in completing a government/DVA/private health fund travel and accommodation subsidy form which then fully refunds any accommodation fees charged to the family by the Foundation.
This process varies between states, so please call 1800 620 420 for more information on your state’s policy.
In the event that there is no available Leukaemia Foundation accommodation, we may be able to assist you in locating alternative commercial accommodation and can provide some subsidy for these costs.
