Herston Village: Keeping Queensland families together during blood cancer treatment for nearly 30 years

Our well-loved, original purpose-built accommodation facility, Herston Village in Queensland, has undergone an incredible renovation thanks to your amazing community support and a $998,400 grant from the Australian Government’s National Stronger Regions Fund.

Since 1989, the 13 unit complex has been home base for more than 1700 families from across rural and regional Queensland; keeping families together and enabling them to stay close to their loved one during treatment. Upgrades include the installation of an elevator, improved recreation facilities and unit layouts, plus new modern appliances. Improved internet cabling also means residents can now more easily keep in touch with family back home.
