The Leukaemia Foundation is always on the hunt for keen volunteers

Publish Date: 9/2/2017

To ensure vital practical and emotional services are available for people in need, the Leukaemia Foundation has been busy planning exciting events and activities for 2017.

A dedicated team of enthusiastic volunteers regularly assist the Foundation in a myriad of ways but with a year full of exciting opportunities ahead of us it is a case of ‘the more the merrier’!

We are calling for reliable volunteers from all walks of life with different skills and interests to help us help Australian families who have been impacted by a blood cancer diagnosis.

Sally (pictured) has been volunteering with the Leukaemia Foundation for almost four years and she’s in the office most weeks to support the team.

“One of the great things about volunteering here is that it suits my lifestyle, the Foundation is flexible and depending on how busy my week is, I can let them know how much time I can commit,” she said.

Sally assists the team with mail outs, fundraising kits, fundraising events, data entry on the computer, stocktaking and much more.

“My favourite thing about volunteering is the lovely people. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly, I really feel like I’m part of the team and that I’m doing something to help. When I come in I see all the things that need to get done to make things run smoothly so I’m happy to be involved,” Sally said.

Volunteers are welcome to join the Transport Program, administration, events across NSW/ACT throughout the year as well as gardening at our accommodation in Westmead, Waverton or Canberra.
