Leukaemia Foundation Patient Transport Service car grant
Publish Date: 20/4/2017
The Leukaemia Foundation needs your help … and all you have to do is give us your vote.
help us receive a “Fund My Community” grant for a new patient transport
vehicle to provide courtesy transport to blood cancer patients and their
families to and from treatment.
Last year in SA we transported 510 families, travelling 8,225 trips equivalent to 259,243 kms (which is 6.4 times around the Earth!). Sadly, we were unable to fulfil the requests of 212 families for 447 trips because our fleet was entirely full.
By adding another vehicle to our fleet, we will be able to help more patients and families in need who require hygienic, safe and reliable transport to and from treatment.
“It is such a great service, I don’t know how I would manage without it.”
“The transport service is an excellent service and staff and volunteers at the Leukaemia Foundation are to be thanked for their wonderful efforts.”
