Within his first week at the Leukaemia Foundation, Victoria and Tasmania’s new general manager Ash Knop had bravely signed up to participate in Ride as One Japan.
The new general manager for Victoria and Tasmania decided to jump in the deep end to “experience a fundraising event first hand” and Ash has been squeezing in training sessions before work and on weekends to ensure he’s ready for the challenging course.
Excited to be a part of the Foundation’s significant period of change with the recent unification Ash says he is enthusiastic about helping to shape its future.
“I’m looking forward to building on the outstanding reputation of the Leukaemia Foundation and helping the organisation innovate and become more dynamic in the way it engages supporters and patients,” he said.
In his prior role as Director of Partnership at World Vision Australia, Ash acquired extensive skills and expertise in the areas of corporate strategy, business development, stakeholder engagement, partnership brokering, budget management, team leadership and communication.
Ash has been involved in an array of exciting projects and lists his direct involvement in building a key partnership with World Vision and Jetstar as a career highlight, where he oversaw the growth of the venture through staff, executive and customer engagement.
Outside of work, Ash says he is most happy when he’s spending time with his young family, including his two daughters Alfie (7) and Lola (3). His likes to play golf, travel and has been known to enjoy the occasional boat cruise.
It will be Ash’s first time in Japan when he takes off for Ride As One this April and he’s looking forward to engaging with those on the ride and seeing a new part of the world.
